Having to analyze my teaching in studiocode really helps me see exactly how many times I give instruction, and how much time is spent on managing the class. For my instruction, I had three categories; circulation, cues, and demonstration. From my analyzing I found out that I demonstrate the most when I am teaching. I circulate some, while the students are performing the task. The topic that I did the least was saying the cues.
From my analysis I did not spend too much time managing the class. I used "when before what" some, my transitions were successful, but I need to work on giving more signals. For the topics under management, I performed the transitions the best. The students knew exactly where they were supposed to be and there was no confusion when they had to line up.
This entire process helped me to see where I need to make changes for the next time I teach. The first thing I would change for my teaching is to say more cues and reinforce them throughout the entire lesson. Secondly, I need to circulate throughout the entire lesson, rotate the front of the room to different sides so that different children are at the front. I also need to use "when before what" more often. Lastly, I need to reinforce my signals more so the students know what I want them to do when I whistle or give a command.
